How to Mix Peptides: Reconstituting, Combining Two in One Syringe & Mistakes

Mixing means two different things
'Mixing peptides' is used for two separate jobs. The first is reconstitution — turning the freeze-dried powder in a vial back into a liquid by adding bacteriostatic water. The second is combining — drawing two already-reconstituted peptides into one syringe so a stack takes one injection instead of two. The rules differ, so this guide covers both.
Mixing peptide powder with water (reconstitution)
Swab the vial tops. Draw your chosen volume of bacteriostatic water — 1 to 3 ml for most 5–10 mg vials — into a 3 ml syringe. Push the needle through the peptide vial's stopper and let the water run down the inside glass wall, not onto the powder. Never inject water straight at the pellet: the jet shears fragile peptide chains.
Do not shake. Roll the vial gently between your palms or leave it on the counter for a few minutes; nearly all peptides clear on their own. A vial that stays cloudy after 10–15 minutes at room temperature usually means a degraded product, not too little water.
The water amount only changes concentration, never the dose. Choose a volume that makes your dose land on a clean syringe mark — the calculator does this for you.
Combining two peptides in one syringe
Reconstitute each vial separately, on its own, with its own water. Then, at injection time, draw the first peptide into the insulin syringe, and with the same syringe draw the second from its vial. Inject promptly — a combined draw is not for storage.
Pairs that are routinely drawn together: CJC-1295 + ipamorelin, BPC-157 + TB-500, BPC-157 + KPV, tesamorelin + ipamorelin. Pairs that are not: anything with very different pH or that is known to be fragile — NAD+ and glutathione are kept separate, and glutathione is not mixed with anything.
Never add water to two powders in the same vial, and never inject one reconstituted peptide into another's vial to 'pre-mix' them. Pre-made blends (CJC/ipamorelin 5/5, BPC/TB 5/5) are formulated together at manufacture; that is not something to recreate at home.
Doing the math for a combined draw
Each peptide keeps its own concentration. Calculate the units for peptide A (from A's vial and water), then the units for peptide B, and draw them sequentially — the syringe reading after the second draw is simply A's units plus B's. Example: 10 units of CJC-1295 (100 mcg at 10 mcg/unit) then 10 more units of ipamorelin (200 mcg at 20 mcg/unit) reads 20 units total.
The five mistakes that ruin vials
Shaking. Using sterile (non-bacteriostatic) water for a multi-week vial. Squirting water directly onto the powder. Forgetting to write the water volume on the vial — every later dose becomes a guess. And leaving the reconstituted vial out of the fridge; most peptides want 2–8 °C from the moment they are liquid.
